This alt-story format from March 2024 leans heavily on statistics. It gives Atlanta subscribers a quick-hit look at the top pitchers in the Braves' division before the season.
The goal is to give fans something they can remember
as play begins, complementing our beat writers' preview content in the printed sports section. The previous week, a similarly structured page gave readers a rundown of each division team's top returning home run hitters.
College football team leaders preview, Atlanta Journal-Constitution ePaper's Sports Insider
This alt-story format from August 2023 mixes wire content, aggregated content and statistics. It gives college football fans a quick overview of some of the top teams' best returning players before the season.
The intent is to provide fans with names to watch early in the college football season, whether introducing them to a star-in-the-making they haven't noticed or just rekindling their memory of a very good player they've seen. When applicable, the story also reminds readers which players attended high school in north Georgia.

This proof of concept for an e-magazine provided our website audience of Clemson fans with some written summaries of five key issues to watch during spring practice and leading up to the popular Orange and White spring football game. (Unfortunately, the vendor's trial link for the completed product has since died.) Each page in the vendor's finished product contained an embed for a topical podcast episode. Despite our podcast having a relatively small audience at the time, the e-mag surpassed expectations with more than 100 views, with a couple dozen after the spring game had ended.
