Clemson’s Week 2 Win: Why Dabo Swinney’s Approach Isn’t Working Yet
All right, college sports fans – Dabo Swinney’s Clemson football team showed some areas of improvement in a 22-7 win over Georgia Southern, but plenty of issues reared their head despite the victory. Granted, the win was the most important thing about the game. And quarterback Tait Reynolds continued to flash his early potential and his athletic ability as he played all but the first two possessions of the game. But looking ahead at the fact that it’s a 12-game season, the fact that the offensive line still isn’t enabling Chad Morris’ offense to fire on all cylinders and let the skill position players compete at their full potential. Defensively, Tom Allen’s squad tightened up considerably but still showed a few areas where they can be beaten (as any college football defense can be). We break it all down, talk about where this team’s latest performance fits into the big picture, and look ahead to the rest of the season in some regards.
