LSU 51, Clemson 10: The Fixes Dabo Swinney Must Make After This Collapse
All right, college sports fans – we know this one got ugly in a hurry. Dabo Swinney’s optimism in his team was not rewarded Saturday night in Baton Rouge and his team got trounced 51-10 by LSU under its new coach, Lane Kiffin. Swinney is now faced with the task of keeping his team focused on winning the next game, and the one after that, following a season-opening disappointment. Quarterback Tait Reynolds showed promise in relief of starter Christopher Vizzina, but neither was entirely to blame for their struggles as the Clemson offensive line once again struggled mightily under position coach Matt Luke. New offensive coordinator Chad Morris had no solutions in his first game reunited with Swinney. And the Tigers D that defensive coordinator Tom Allen overhauled via the transfer portal also showed major issues along the line of scrimmage. Dabo’s honey-do list is a lengthy one after this season-opening breakdown. We get into the top things we see that need the most immediate attention, in our opinions, although surely the two-time national-championship head coach is ahead of the curve on what needs to be done.
