They call Simmons, from Tallahassee, Fla., “Waffle House,” because it seems he’s always open! He measures up at 5-11, 165 pounds, and is a consensus four-star prospect out of Godby High School. He is committed to join Clemson before the 2027 season, when current star receivers Bryant Wesco and T.J. Moore will become draft eligible. He is committed to join Clemson and Dabo Swinney for the 2027 season, when expected starter Gideon Davidson will be a junior and recent transfer Chris Johnson Jr. will be a senior. Clemson football has some big offseason storylines, none larger than the revamped 2026 offense under returning offensive coordinator Chad Morris. With proven wideouts T.J. All eyes are on QB Christopher Vizzina, who enters the offseason in the so-called "pole position" after Dabo Swinney and his staff chose not to pursue an arm in the transfer portal. The lone offensive transfer, RB Chris Johnson Jr., brings elite speed to pair with returning back Gideon Davidson. Meanwhile, the offensive line must take a step forward despite losing four starters, including one to the NFL Draft.
