Clemson homecoming: Tigers offense needs work after bye week

Posted by Staff Report on October 30, 2025 | 8:45 AM

All right, college sports fans -- the Clemson offense has gotten more things right this year than the defense as the Tigers have struggled to a 3-4 record, but there's a lot of work to be done nonetheless. Adam Randall's dedication hasn't been enough to establish a running game behind a problematic offensive line that's taken a step back this season. Christopher Vizzina's potential wasn't enough to improve on Cade Klubnik's issues in the passing game. And the receivers can't quite shake the drops. We get into a few things that have been plaguing assistant coaches Garrett Riley, Matt Luke and CJ Spiller during the Tigers' first seven games. For extra content, see our Tiger Trends blog at the top of this page. Clemson homecoming kickoff time announced for Duke game Nov. 1

Posted by Staff Report on October 20, 2025 | 11:51 AM

Clemson football's 2025 homecoming game Nov. 1 against Duke will kick off at noon, the ACC announced Monday morning.

TV viewers can find the game on the ACC Network.

Clemson enters the game at 3-4 (2-3 ACC) with questions about the health of its starting quarterback, Cade Klubnik. He missed Saturday's game against SMU and Christopher Vizzina started in his place.

The Tigers have lost five straight home games to Power Four competition, meaning schools from the ACC, SEC, Big Ten or Big 12. Three of their next four games are at home, including Duke as the homecoming opponent and Florida State the following week. Clemson is off this week.

Duke enters the game at 4-3 (3-1), having just lost to Georgia Tech. Starting quarterback Darien Mensah, a transfer portal acquisition, has averaged more than 300 yards per game with 17 touchdowns against two interceptions.

All right, college sports fans -- Despite solid stats from QB Christopher Vizzina in his first start, Clemson lost 35-24 to SMU and is in the bottom half of the ACC standings. Dabo Swinney has a lot to take stock of, and we start our analysis from afar with a look at the troubles that have plagued Tom Allen's defense all season long. We also look at longer trends of recent season to try to figure out what's going wrong, and what seems evident to us is that there's a big disconnect between the coaches and players. In this episode, we start to dive into where Clemson might try to make progress as it enters the second bye week of the 2025 season.
